Baile Felix

The workshop will be held at the Hotel Termal (see pictures below; website: http://www.sctfelix.ro; Phone number: 0040 259-318214), in Baile Felix, 9 km east of Oradea, in North-western Romania. Baile Felix is a spa resort renown for its thermal springs; it is located about 660 km north-west of Bucharest and can be accessed by travelling to Oradea (either by train from Budapest, about 4-5 hours = 230 km, or by train or air from Bucharest). The workshop organizers will provide transportation from Oradea to Baile-Felix, that is why we need to know when you are coming. In case of changes, you can contact someone from the workshop Secretariat.

Travelling via Budapest
There are just about 2 trains per day from Budapest to Oradea, leaving Budapest at 10:00, and 16:00, and arriving in Oradea at 15:47 and 22:00, respectively. Note that the trains leave from Budapest -Nyugati. It is recommended to obtain international train ticket and reservation at your travel agent. Having a valid ticket one can board the above trains at the station closer to the Airport, at Kobanya-Kispest at 10:14 and 16:14 consequently. Allowing some time for ground travel from the airport to the train stations, you arrival time should not be later than 14:00 to catch the last train at Nyugati Station or 15:00 if you board at Kobanya-Kispest. Check details of all train connections on the Internet, e.g. at www.elvira.hu (the website of Hungarian Railways).

If you could not catch the last train to Oradea (16:00/16:14), you would need to travel to Bekescsaba or Gyula (Hungary), stay overnight in a hotel (preliminary arrangements have been made), and we could bring few people by van to Oradea early in the morning of May 5, 2005. The late afternoon trains for Bekescsaba leave Budapest-Keleti at 17:10, 18:10, and 19:15, arriving in Bekescsaba at 20:00, 20:41, and 22:00. Returning from the workshop - again, there are two trains, leaving Oradea at 04:10 and 10:23, and arriving in Budapest at 08:10 and 14:09, respectively. For a limited number of participants, we could try to arrange transportation to Gyula/Bekescsaba (about 2 hrs by van), and from there the connections to Budapest are more frequent. In any case, try to get late return flights from Budapest.
